The city of Vienna is going to host a new Ikea store. This would not be news if this store was not accompanied by a new Jo & Joe Accor hotel on the upper floors.
The construction of City Ikea, this new store-hotel that will be located next to the Westbahnhof train station, will begin in January 2020 and its completion is scheduled for 2021. The hotel, which will occupy the last two floors of the seven-story building It will be an Open House Jo & Joe with 345 beds, a restaurant and bar, both integrated in the roof. After opening two hotels in Paris and Hossegor in France, this is Jo & Joe's first project in Austria. In addition, he has signed projects in Rome, London, Budapest, Glasgow, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. The entry of this Accor brand in Austria underpins the company's international expansion plan in the German-speaking region.
