In Orlando, Florida, a police officer assigned to the security of a primary school arrested two six-year-old children on Thursday, September 19th. The debate on the deployment of police officers in schools has been revived. In the United States, where 46% of public schools have an officer present at least one day a week.
Kaia Rolle, a little girl, was arrested because she had kicked an adult during a big anger, assured his grandmother on the chain WKMG-TV. "No 6-year-old child should have to say that he was handcuffed and taken to the back of a police car to a juvenile center for fingerprinting and photography, "she said.
According to the Orlando police, the vehicle turned around before reaching the center and the little Kaia brought back to school because Constable Dennis Turner did not ask for the required authorizations to arrest minors under 12 years old.
On the second child, no details were transmitted on the origin of his arrest. He was taken to the juvenile center before being handed over to his parents
