Steven Defour leaves Burnley to return to Belgium, announced Saturday evening his club of Premier League. The former Red Devil, 31, could lay his bags in Antwerp according to several media, but the name of his new club has not yet been formalized.

Steven Defour had a ten-month contract with Turf Moor, but both parties agreed to anticipate the end of their collaboration for "family reasons," Burnley said in his statement.

"His qualities and his key role during the first part of the season 2017/2018, when he laid the foundations of a seventh place in the Premier League and a qualification for Europe", were rented by his club .

Steven Defour trained in Mechelen had transited through Genk (2004-2006) where he had revealed himself after passing Standard (2006-2011). A first experience abroad led him to Porto from 2011 to 2014 before returning to Belgium, but to Anderlecht (2014-2016). He has been in Burnley since 2016. He has 52 capes in the national team (for 84 caps).
