Charleroi

The Charleroi club announced on its website that it accepted the postponement of its meeting against Club Brugge.

In a statement posted on its website, the club Sporting Charleroi has decided to accept the postponement of his meeting against Club Brugge, originally scheduled for Saturday at 18 hours.

This Monday, the Pro League had decided to postpone two matches of the Belgian championship to later dates: Charleroi – Bruges (scheduled for Saturday at 18h) and Antwerp – Gent (scheduled for Sunday at 14:30), all these teams except Charleroi being in the running for a European qualification. The objective of these postponements is to allow these three clubs to better prepare their future European match-up given the "importance of these matches for the Belgian coefficient and the reputation of Belgian football."

Even if the Zebras dispute the timing of the announcement of this postponement, they agree not to play this weekend against the inhabitants of Bruges. "An appeal to the federal authorities does not change anything in view of time and, bending to the superior interests of Belgian football that are advanced, Sporting now trusts the Pro League for professional management of the consequences of this decision, while putting in place the regulatory procedures and adaptations again preventing damage to some clubs ", can be read on the club website.

The date of the meeting is not yet fixed.
