Manchester Utd condemns racist insults against Paul Pogba after miss penalty

The Manchester United football club said Tuesday that they "categorically condemnedRacist insults against his player Paul Pogba on social media The French world champion missed the conversion of a penalty in the 68th minute of the match of the second day of the Premier League championship Monday night in Wolverhampton (1 -1).

Pogba, 26, missed the conversion of four penalties last season.

In a statement, quoted by BBC Sport, Man United said he was disgusted by insults.

"The people who have expressed these views do not represent the opinion of our big club and it is encouraging to see that the vast majority of our fans also condemn them on social media", says the leadership of the Red Devils.

"Manchester United has no tolerance for any form of racism or discrimination and has a long-standing commitment to campaign against discrimination based on race and ethnicity through our #AllRedAllEqual initiative."

"We will strive to identify the few people involved in these incidents and take the strongest action available to us. We

encourage social media companies to take action in these cases."

Some of the tweets have been deleted while several accounts have been deleted, according to the BBC.
