Tales of a light mess … After mentioning the date of 2022 in the morning, the Minister of Action and Public Accounts Gérald Darmanin had to clarify this Friday afternoon in a tweet that the housing tax no will have "disappeared for all" only in 2023.

Invited radio RTL, the former mayor of Tourcoing had first announced that "all French will have their housing tax removed for 2022". It was a promise of the candidate Emmanuel Macron, scheduled at first for 2021 "at the latest".

But the minister and Bercy then published a precision that looks like a back pedal. "2022 will be the last year in which 20% of the wealthiest French will pay the last third of their housing tax," it reads.
