The Italian Davide Formolo (BORA-hansgrohe) will not start the 6th stage of the Tour of Spain, Friday in Onda said his team Friday morning.
The Italian champion is one of the victims of the massive fall that occurred on Thursday in the 5th stage, which also forced the abandonment of the Irishman Nicolas Roche (Sunweb), the Colombian Rigoberto Uran (EF Education First), Spanish Victor of the Parte (CCC) and the British Hugh Carthy (EF Education First).
Formolo was able to finish the 5th stage but, touched to the basin, he gave up Friday morning, the pain being always present.
Friday, the 6th stage connects Onda on 183.2 km to the top of Mas de la Costa, an ascent of 4.1 km to 12.3%.
