At least a dozen deaths were recorded in the region of Taroudant yesterday, Wednesday, August 28, after heavy rains. Local authorities are now singled out for failing to make the necessary arrangements.
The heavy rainfall, which coincided with the end of a football match, left at least 11 dead and several missing. Property damage has also been recorded in several localities.
Videos posted on social networks showed a horrible scene of a building completely destroyed by torrential rains, dragging in their wake all the people who had taken refuge there.
A football field had been built in the bed of a dry river where the risk of flooding is very high. Despite the warnings of certain associative actors, the local authorities had not taken into account their grievances.
