SEOUL | North Korea fired "several unidentified projectiles" in the East Sea (also called the Sea of Japan, Ed), said Wednesday (local time) the South Korean agency Yonhap, citing the staff South Korean arms.
North Korea did not initially confirm or deny this information.
Last Thursday Pyongyang fired two short-range missiles into the sea to demonstrate anger at joint military exercises between Seoul and Washington.
It was the first missile test since last month's impromptu meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that divides the peninsula. The US president and the North Korean leader agreed to resume talks.
But this commitment has yet to materialize and Pyongyang has warned recently that the process could derail if the maneuvers proceeded as planned in August in South Korea.
