Stiffness, agility and a reference front, these are the salient features that surprised me by trying this Xc / Marathon bike.

1 – FRAME TECHNICAL DETAILS
– Geometry: 10
Stability in the fast and agility in the strait are qualities that are not always compatible.
At home Bh they achieved a perfect balance, giving the frame some really guessed geometries, but let’s go into detail.
Steering angle well 68th, which combined with an increased rigidity in the area itself creates a very solid front end that you can count on even in the most critical situations.
Seat tube with an inclination of 74 °, perfect for taking a well-distributed position between front and rear.
Speaking of lengths, let’s move on to top tube of 595.5 mm in size M, combined with a reach of 424.5 mm: generous dimensions that increase stability at high speeds.
To compensate, and therefore shorten the step, the wagon was raised to 420 mm. This makes the bike agile and responsive, but perhaps a little tiring over long distances.
– Riding position: 10
Once in the saddle I immediately feel an excellent weight distribution, a perfect balance between conductivity downhill and drivability uphill.
Despite a not too much difference in the handlebar saddle, I can load the front in the correct way, also the pedaling is effective, thanks to a somewhat vertical column.
Wide handlebar (76 cm) and fairly short stem (80 mm) amplify the feeling of being on a “racing” bike.
– Constructive care: 9.5
The use of the best Toray fibers (T1100G) and the general finishes of the highest level, make this bike rightfully obtain a place among the best hardtails from the constructive point of view.
Well-designed cable routing and with well-made accesses to the frame, chain slider expertly integrated into the carriage but equally functional and finally a “stroke limiter” inserted inside the headset and invisible from the outside, which avoids contacts between the handlebar and frame in in case of a fall or when loading the bike in the car, for example.
These features make the bike truly pleasing to the eye, without sacrificing functionality.
Only note? Maybe I would have liked a little protection under the bottom bracket, a detail that is hardly present on Xc bikes.
– Frame and / or bike weight: 9
The Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon in setting 9.8 tested by us, without pedals and with tubeless tires, stops the balance needle a 9.2 kg.
The really relevant data is the weight of the frame only: 840 grams, a value until a few years ago belonging to street frames.
– Frame and / or bike price: 9
The Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon tested by us has a really top level set up, all offered at a price of 6999.90 €.
Really interesting, when compared to other competitors on the market.
– Warranty on the frame: 10
Well it provides one lifetime warranty on the frame, just register the product within 30 days from the date of purchase.
Also you can take advantage of a service crash replacement for all those damages due to accidents or bad use of the bike.

Final mark (1 to 10): 9.6
2 – UPWARD BEHAVIOR: 9.5
From the first meters of ascent I immediately felt that I was on board a purely racing vehicle, zero push-ups and lots of responsiveness.
The stiffening of the bottom bracket area can be felt, each pedal stroke is translated into movement without being filtered by any power losses, thanks also to the short length carriage.
The driveability, especially in the steepest and most winding sections of the climb, is excellent, the front does not show up and continues to direct the bike wherever you want.
A low overall weight and a really guessed tire allowed me to climb almost everywhere.
Small sore point, the rigidity of the frame tends to tire the back in the longest and most rugged climbs.
3 – DESCENT BEHAVIOR: 10
Incredibly stable, a granite front end you can always count on, trust her and she will give you back security and desire to raise the pace.
This new Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon is surprisingly beautiful to drive, the elongation of the top tube and a generous steering angle make it a scalpel in any situation.
The very short wagon and carbon wheels give the bike a truly remarkable agility and readiness. Furthermore, it remains torsionally rigid in the break-in, but it sufficiently absorbs the disconnections of the ground.
The Shimano XTR brakes allow you to control the bike in a truly effective way, even after prolonged use the braking remains constant.
Also noteworthy are the Maxxis home tires (Ardent Race 2.2 at the front and Ikon 2.2 at the rear), perhaps not very light, but when you have such downhill performance, the weight goes into the background.
To summarize this Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon downhill I would use 3 adjectives: precise, agile and fun.
4 – BEHAVIOR ON THE PEDAL: 9
If the bottom is sliding, relaunching this Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon is really a pleasure, locking the fork almost seems to be on a road bike.
The speech changes if the bottom becomes quite uneven, here the rear tends to bounce, basically we always talk about a hardtail and even playing with the pressure of the tires the speech improves, but it doesn’t change much.
OVERALL VOTE (from 1 to 10): 9.5
In conclusion…
The Bh Ultimate Evo Carbon is a bike born for racing, it gives its best when taken to the limit.
If what you are looking for is a rigid, responsive hardtail that you enjoy downhill then this bike could be for you.
Adequate price and lifetime warranty make it a direct competitor of much more popular models.
