Kübra Aşkın (37), a teacher at Çamlıbel Girls’ Vocational High School, was shot and killed by a gun engineer Davut Demir (41), who was divorced 2 years ago, on Valentine’s Day. The trial of the case opened with the request of a life sentence for Davut Demir on charges of “deliberate killing”, “buying or possessing bullets with unlicensed firearms” was held at the 4th High Criminal Court today. Detained defendant Murat Demir, Kübra teacher’s mother Sebirhan Aşkın, brother Saliha Aşkın and party lawyers and many women attended the 4th session.

In the case that reached the decision stage, the prosecution announced its opinion on the merits. In the interview, the detained defendant Murat Demir was asked to be punished for ‘deliberate killing’ in terms of the nature and manner of the crime. Speaking on the prosecution’s opinion, the mother Sebirhan Aşkın requested that the accused be punished for ‘designing and killing’. Saliha Aşkın also demanded that Murat Demir, by designing his older sister, planned to kill him planned and sentenced him to the most severe punishment. The lawyers of the Aşkın family also stated that they did not participate in the opinion and stated that the verb ‘killing by design’ occurred.
