According to the statement made by the Presidency of Communications, Altun responded to the claims of Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Miçotakis on CNN International channel.

Stating that they have strictly rejected the accusations of Miçotakis, Altun said:

“By mistreating refugees by Greek law enforcement and border protection forces, we are deeply concerned about the use of lethal force against them. The world’s most refugee hosting country, Turkey, from Syria and other places serves as a wall duties against irregular migration wave.

The European Union has not kept its promises in the 2016 refugee agreement, such as financial support and voluntary acceptance. As a result of this, Turkey has channeled resources to meet a possible wave of refugees that may come from Idlib to stop instead of going to Europe. Our advice to Greece and the international community is to stop the Syrian civil war that underlies irregular immigration, rather than accusing someone. ”
