At the start of the election campaign, Warren was one of the most popular candidates and had been at the head of national polls for a short time in the autumn. In the following months, however, she lost a lot of ground, according to observers both for her unclear positions on health care reform – on which she changed her mind several times, despite having proposed herself as the candidate with the most detailed plans – and for the merits of other candidates, who had managed to gain much more attention from the press than her. Furthermore, his fight against corruption in politics has often overshadowed other issues perceived as more pressing by voters.
After going very badly in the first four states where she voted in the primary – Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina – at the so-called Super Tuesday she finished third or fourth in all the states, including Massachusetts, her state, only getting a handful of delegates.
