Fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology will be included in fully electric BMW models, such as the BMW iX3, BMW iNEXT and BMW i4, which will be launched in 2020. The electric motor, power electronics, charger and high voltage battery used in the fifth generation BMW eDrive technology enable BMW to take another important step in the field of electrical systems. The electric motor developed for the BMW i4 can produce a maximum power of up to 530 hp in total.
The fifth generation BMW eDrive comes with a newly designed high-voltage battery with the latest battery cell technology. The battery version developed for the BMW i4 draws attention with its extremely thin structure and optimized energy density. It weighs about 550 kg and offers a range of up to 600 km according to WLTP norms.
The BMW Group invests around 200 million Euros in Plant Munich to realize the mass production of the new BMW i4 at its main plant in Munich in 2021. This also means that future BMW models with internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids and all-electrics will be produced on the same assembly line.

The BMW Curved Screen covers most of the area in front of the driver and above the center console, providing a modern look at the front. In addition, while creating a sophisticated ambience in the interior with its thin and borderless form, it aims to minimize physical contact, allowing almost all commands related to the car to be controlled from the touch screen.
Passengers sitting in the back seat can travel with head and knee distances exceeding the expectations of a coupé design.
