Ten days ago, the Croatian came to the Warriors from Milwaukee on a temporary contract, and since then he has been trying to buy himself a more permanent contract. So far, he has been a teammate in six games, putting up an average of 7.5 points per game and 6.3 rebounds in 23.3 minutes. After some deliberation, it was finally decided to extend the contract for another short period. It should be noted that the team is only allowed to award two temporary contracts to a particular player in one season, which means that at the end of the current contract the Warriors will have to decide whether to sign it or end the season.
Bender came to Milwaukee in the minimum contract this summer as a free player, but failed to leave his mark on it and moved on to its development team. In the Bucks uniform, he recorded only seven appearances, scoring an average of 3.7 points per game, but in the Warriors, he gave him another chance to return to the main stage from the front door.
Bender, who grew up in the local splendor group Split, was signed to Maccabi Tel Aviv when he was 17. He played for the Yellow Rows for two years, and despite a relatively minority, earned himself a Prospect name and at the age of 19 was selected in the NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns. From Arizona, he recorded three seasons, culminating in the 2017/18 season, then playing in all 82 of the team’s games (not qualifying for the playoffs), averaging 6.5 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
