Until a few years ago, Amir Wintrov was one of the best tennis players in Israel and a regular player on the Davis team. But quite a few injuries overwhelmed him, and he more or less retired. In the afternoon (Thursday), Wintrov severely criticized the current team, especially the state of the industry and its captains ahead of the team’s meeting with Turkey over the weekend.

Ehrlich for Davies: “Trust Zuckerman and Fattal”

“I see our roster, and it is with great sadness that I do not remember a team so weak since I can remember myself entering the tennis world,” Winterob wrote in his Facebook account. Which way are we going? We play against Turkey, a very weak team, but what that means about us is that we go up with our number 3 and number 5, that our number 5 is supposed to play 3 games – 2 individuals and also doubles. ”

Winterob also wrote: “What about our professional players? What’s going on here in Israeli tennis? Nothing is done in the tennis union to change the situation except talk and like plans. I wish a lot of good luck to the team tomorrow, and very much hope that they win and there is no intention of hurting here. And it’s legitimate not to agree with me either. But the tennis association must wake up because in the meantime the tennis situation is fucking bad.

Wintroub then sounds a little more conciliatory: “The current situation is not because of what has been going on for the past two years, and there is no doubt that anyone in charge of the union today reaps the fruits of what happened in the past. Wish the union to succeed in what they do.”
