The Ministry of Defense continues round-the-clock procurement of medical equipment for the health system. Alongside the effort to promote procurement from overseas, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Ministry Director General (res.) Instructed Udi Adam to increase domestic production in every way. This is to minimize the need for imports in the short and long term.
Sion will provide about 30 million surgical masks (3 layers) to the Ministry of Health, of which 11 million by the end of April and about 5.5 million N95 masks. The opening of the production line for the advanced masks was made possible after the Ministry of Defense, aided by a special machine, was the only one of its kind in Israel in recent days. Sion will also produce hundreds of thousands of waterproof overalls and pebbles for medical teams.
