President Reuben Rivlin eulogized this morning (Friday) to Rabbi Yeshayahu Haber Zachel, founder of the “Gift of Life” organization that passed away at age 55 after contracting the Corona virus.
” The heart is grieving for the passing of Rabbi Isaiah Haber, a man of all kindness, a man who has connected the entire Israeli society to one human tissue. The rabbi’s life work was extraordinary, ”Rivlin said.
“Together with the many souls he saved, and with the whole of Israel, I want to strengthen my entire family’s hands and believe that Rabbi Haber’s” gift of life “will continue to give life even after his death,” the president added.
55-year-old Rabbi Bar was hospitalized in a serious condition at the Jerusalem hospital two weeks ago. Last night, doctors had to determine his death. He is survived by a wife and two children. Rabbi Haber was brought to rest this morning in Jerusalem.
“How much dad helped everyone endlessly, at home, money, good advice, listening,” his son eulogized him over the phone, due to the fact that the family is still in isolation. “Contained everyone in his huge heart. Anyone can say he is his best friend.”
“Dad went through a lot of anguish in his life, many years until he had children. The era of dialysis, kidney transplants, and even when the stories were raised about the association – the smile never came from his face. He was always strong, always strengthened everyone. People who did him wrong, He applies them. ”
The son said: “He would say ‘Jews who need me – I can’t say no.’ Everyone felt he was just for them. Mom wanted to say thank you to all the people who prayed for his peace, who were there during this time and for Hadassah Hospital, the wonderful staff and Rothstein who did everything for him.”
Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Lowe: “What friend were you, all your heart, all your Torah, big smile, all good, how did you always say?” “People should not die next to me because one moment they will give me a kidney,” you said that the Blessed One is giving man one heart, one liver, but two kidneys so he can give one. You are the one you gave and you made others give to others ”.
” With all the agony and difficulty, you can’t walk upright but your stance is honest, dedicated, all of you giving. What a person you were, a complete person in the Torah, a whole person at heart, a whole person with dedication, what a wonderful person. You walked between us here and always the smile on your face. ”
Rabbi Lowe added: ” The tears in the last two hours have come down and flowed, strangling the throat. Sovereign of the world, we do not understand, we have no questions about you, but we have a request from you – to the convoy of angels who are now walking in the sky joins an angel, Abraham Isaiah, it is our time to stand and ask for pity, put our mercy before the merciful, endeavor and plead “That the Lord will remove from this world, from this world, this pain, this death.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu eulogized Rabbi Barbar: “I wish to express deep regret for his passing. Rabbi Barbar himself underwent a kidney transplant, and he instilled in the general public the awareness of the importance of the donation. At the same time he acted to connect donors with donors, and accompanied the process throughout. Hundreds of people in Israel have gained a new life.
“Rabbi Bar was an exemplar of humanity, kindness and mutual guarantee. We all hoped he would recover from the Corona, but to his dismay he passed away tonight. My deepest condolences are dedicated to his family,” Netanyahu said.
Blue and White Chairman Benny Gantz said: “So much kindness and solidarity did Rabbi Yeshayahu Haber spread. In his inspirational mission he promoted organ donation to patients and the value of evil in Israeli society. The parents, the children, the brothers and the sisters who owe their loved ones lives, and all of us, who were impressed by the power of his giving to the community, are sore tonight by his patron of the Corona virus. ”
Rabbi Isaiah Haver saved the lives of hundreds of people as part of the “Gift of Life” association he established to encourage kidney donation. About 800 kidney donations were made thanks to the activity of Rabbi Bar, a kidney transplant himself.
The bar was born in Tel Aviv and studied at the Ponevezh Yeshiva. In 2009 he founded the Gift of Life Association after having to undergo a kidney transplant himself. The bar received the “President’s Letter to Volunteer” for 2014 and in March 2016 was awarded a signal from the Minister of Health to outstanding volunteers.
