This, at least, according to official data. According to some estimates resulting from the AllertaLom app, created and disseminated by the Region for monitoring possible cases of COVID-19, in Milan alone there would have been more than 100 thousand infections. And even more worryingly, over 40,000 people at risk of COVID-19 would be forced to leave the house every day and go to work. The data are an integral part of a report anticipated by Corriere della Sera and now under consideration by the top management of the Lombardy Region.
Lombardy, 45 thousand people at work with COVID-19 symptoms
According to data collected through AllertaLom, over 40,000 Lombards with Coronavirus symptoms leave home every day to go to the place of work. In particular, 19,500 claims to have at least two symptoms of those indicated in the app; 7,500 people have at least three symptoms; 18,500 people, on the other hand, had contacts with family, friends or work colleagues who then tested positive for the swab.
It is, as underlined several times by the Lombard leaders, purely statistical data and without any health relevance. However, they signal a danger that is far from underestimable: there may be at least 45 thousand people with COVID-19, with all the resulting risks.
These workers, according to the information reported by Corriere della Sera, they would move mainly along the Milan-Bergamo-Brescia-Monza axis which, not surprisingly, connects some of the centers most affected by the disease.
Coronavirus Milan patients: the data
As mentioned initially, in Lombardy there are officially around 72,000 Coronavirus patients. According to the report commissioned by the Lombardy Region, however, it is a significantly lower number than the number of real infections.
In Milan alone, according to the information that can be obtained from AllertaLom, there could have been 140,000 infected. Just to make a comparison, the official figures released by the Lombardy Region speak of 7,500 Milanese infected. In short, 20 times less than the estimate made thanks to AllertaLom. If this relationship were also confirmed in the rest of the region, the number of infected staff would be around 1.5 million.
