Ten Decathlon diving masks modified with “Charlotte” valves made with 3D printers at a Francavilla company will allow to ventilate as many affected by Covid-19 in respiratory deficit. The masks thus adapted can however also be used as protective devices for those health workers who during their work must approach the sick.
One hundred of these masks have already been successfully tested in the hospitals of Bergamo and Turin. In Sicily the donation also involved the hospitals of Caltagirone, Taormina, Patti, Barcelona and Messina.
Commitment and confidentiality are the basis of a gesture of solidarity, far from the catwalks, aimed at giving a concrete and effective response to the current emergency and highly appreciated by the operators of Enna’s Covid 2.
The delivery of the modified masks was attended by the medical director of the hospital, Montalbano, with his staff composed of the doctors D’Agati, Tantillo and Schillirò, chief of Medicine and head of the Covid 2 department, Sapienza with his help, Amato.
