Over one hundred people were arrested by the police in Berlin for protesting the lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus. The protesters were shouting “I want my life back” and holding up signs saying “defend constitutional rights”. The Constitutional Court ruled at the beginning of the month that demonstrations are authorized even during the lockdown provided that the participants keep the safety distance. Some demonstrators tried to comply with the rules, sitting on the ground and wearing masks, but others crowded together.
