Minus sign for European stock exchanges, which discount the failure to agree on the emergency Coronavirus in the EU Council. After a positive start they immediately turned to red. Paris sells 2%, London records -1.5%, Frankfurt -0.8%. The worst is Madrid which, after hitting -3.55%, recovers to -2.5%.

Milan, after an opening with the plus sign, had come to sell 3% this morning, before recovering to -0.4%. Among the worst drops, banks: Unicredit leaves 5.04%, Intesa (-4.25% theoretical). Mediolanum (-3.54%), Mediobanca (-3.14%). Rising spread above 190 points.

The yield differential between the BTP and the Bund now rises to 196 points, with the 10-year Treasury bond rate rising to 1.42%. Growth which, according to some analysts, could be linked to the statements of the Minister of Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni who said that “the issue of bonds generically to mutualise the debt will never be accepted” in the EU.

Red closure for Asians. Tokyo closed at -1.57% at 19,084.97, leaving over 300 points on the ground. Shanghai lost 0.90% to 2,747.21 points, while Shenzhen lost 2.11% to 1,657.55. The Seoul Stock Exchange eliminates losses in the final and closes the session just below parity: -0.04%. Hong Kong closed at -1.32%.
