5 patients recovered from Covid hospital in Partinico: one is 92 years old. Another 10 recovered from Garibaldi

She is 92 years old, many of whom passed behind the chair of the Montallegro elementary school, the oldest “healed” Sicilian from Covid 19. The retired former teacher is awaiting resignation from Covid hospital in Partinico, where she arrived ten days ago together with other guests of the Villafrati nursing home, which became a hotbed of the coronavirus. Four other patients, 38 to 90 years of age, judged to be clinically healed, are resigning with her, in addition to the 65 officially communicated by the Region to regional civil protection.

For doctors and nurses of the Partinico hospital, it was a great party in the ward, after many sacrifices: “In addition to the coronavirus – says the medical director Vincenzo Provenzano – we must overcome the panic fueled by the news disseminated by social media and the solitude of these patients who are sometimes abandoned out of fear by those around them. ” The five patients discharged, the doctor explains, were treated with antiviral therapy, tachipirine and hydroxychloroquine. To be judged healed also virologically, they will have to repeat the swab. Once discharged, patients will have to stay in quarantine until the outcome of the swab fails twice.

Good news also from Acireale, where the first two patients were hospitalized, admitted to ICU. It is a 64-year-old man from Catania, hospitalized since March 21, and an 86-year-old resident of Zafferana Etnea, hospitalized since March 18. Both breathe autonomously and the transfer to an infectious disease ward in the province is assessed. The first patient, 64 years old, was treated with therapy that combines the use of azithromycin and hydroxychloroquine, while tocilizumab therapy was performed for the second patient.”We followed two therapeutic strategies, assessing in advance the appropriateness for each patient – explains Giuseppe Rapisarda, director of Anesthesia and Resuscitation -. The results are positive. I thank my collaborators for their commitment and teamwork”. The management of the Asp of Catania expresses “appreciation and gratitude to all operators for the exemplary and commendable work that sees them at the forefront of this emergency”. There are currently 4 patients admitted to Intensive Care, in Acireale, positive for Covid-19. ”

And there are ten, with today’s healed, two men aged 58 and 62, Covid patients in the Infectious Diseases department of the Garibaldi-Nesima. The ten patients were all treated with a combined therapy of hydroxychlorichin, Lopinar and Azithromycin, capable of effectively blocking the replication of the new Coronavirus. The healings recorded at Garibaldi let us hope for the good course of the disease also for the other inpatients currently undergoing the same pharmaceutical treatment. In the meantime, for more complex cases, the Tolicizumab experimentation continues.

Two other patients hospitalized at Sant’Antonio Abate in resumed autonomous breathing Trapani for Covid-19. The Asp of Trapani reports it. The patients, aged 83 and 58, from Paceco and Salemi respectively, left the intensive care unit to be transferred to the pneumology department of the hospital for the continuation of therapies until the complete negative treatment of the swabs. In the Trapani area, the total number of inpatients who have abandoned mechanical ventilation and are now on a complete recovery rises to three.
