The transfer market will not reopen on 1 July, as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic that has stopped the whole world of sport and beyond. To confirm it is Emilio Garcia SIlvero, FIFA legal director, during an interview granted to the ‘Tiempo de juego’ program broadcast on Cadena Cope: “FIFA cannot extend contracts beyond June 30, but the transfer windows will not be the same and players will not be able to be registered. The market will not open on July 1st “.

Silvero also adds that a transferred player can return to his home club on June 30, when he will complete the loan, but will not be able to play: “If a sale ends on June 30, theoretically the player should return to his home club, however the membership window will not be opened, so the deal would not be processed.”

New market windows could also be added: “It will depend on the start and end of the championship, the idea is that the windows end just before the start of the championship and that they do not coincide with it.”
