The Edmund de Rothschild Foundation has donated NIS 15 million to the Corona Virus War Foundation established by the Hebrew University. The purpose of the foundation is to support virus-related studies. The university said that the donation funds were directed primarily to funding studies aimed at finding a vaccine for Corona, by detecting and producing antibodies.

Fund funds have also been directed toward developing an advanced method of corona testing, the results of which are obtained faster than the results of the tests currently available. The method is being developed together with Hadassah Hospital.

Hebrew University President Prof. Asher Cohen said: “Since the outbreak of the crisis, researchers have been working day and night to provide a scientific answer to the corona virus. The entire world depends on science and research that is taking place in Israel and the world to overcome corona disease.”
