Coronavirus, intervention by Franco Locatelli (Superior Health Council) at Che tempo che fa on RaiDue. One of the questions that torments Italian families: could schools reopen safely after May 3?

“Personally I think we can make a reflection to postpone the reopening of schools next year” said the president of the CSS.

The decision “is up to the government.” What worries me most at the moment is if we abandon the individual behaviors that have led us to limit the number of hospitalized people and reduce the number of deaths. If shutting down production activities and implementing social distancing and the limitation of personal freedoms was painful, reopening without the country returning to the emergency is a delicate operation. ”

At the moment, face-to-face teaching activities are suspended until May 3, but those who know the school thoroughly know that it is difficult to implement those safety measures that are being considered to implement phase 2.

Probably the school will become part of phase 3, the one that could start in the summer but that for the school will inevitably start in September.

But even in September we may not find a traditional school: there is already talk of shifts and maintenance of part of the online lessons.

In the meantime, Minister Azzolina has appointed a group of experts for educational innovation and training, which will most likely have the task of ferrying the school towards this new model.
