Chernobyl on his knees again 34 years after the well-known disaster. Two planes, a helicopter and 130 firefighters intervened to tame the fire, in all likelihood of malicious origin. But if local authorities tend to reassure citizens, the head of the ecological inspection service is not of the same opinion.
Egor Firsov on Facebook he says that “there is bad news, the radiation is above the norm at the site of the fire. As you can see in the video, the indicators indicate 0.14 and 2.3”, he writes, showing in a video a Geiger counter that marks a level of radioactivity 16 times higher than normal. A worrying situation therefore even if the forests near Chernobyl are often targeted by fires.
