Saudi Minister of Health Tawfiq Bin Fouzan Al-Rabiah spoke late Friday about suspected cases of the emerging coronavirus in the Kingdom, explaining the fact that it is ambiguous.

The Saudi minister confirmed, in a tweet on Twitter, that the kingdom has not yet recorded any infection with the deadly coronavirus.

He explained by saying, “We do great precautions to prevent infection in any hospital when there is any suspicion, and this happens to be confusion for some people … All the cases of suspicion that were examined were good, thank God.”

The minister’s statement came after news spreading to claim HIV cases inside Saudi Arabia.

According to statistics, since its appearance, the virus has killed more than 717 people and infected more than 31,000 in China, according to the latest toll on Saturday.

Outside of China, about 300 people have been infected with the deadly respiratory virus in about 30 countries. Two deaths were recorded in the Philippines and Hong Kong.

The number of people infected with the virus throughout mainland China reached 31,161, according to the outcome of Friday, the majority of them in Wuhan and its surrounding areas, 636 of whom died.

The majority of deaths occurred in Hubei, the central province with its capital, Wuhan.

While 24 injuries were recorded in Hong Kong, including one death. Most of the injured were those who visited Wuhan.
