A new president is on the way. According to reports in New York, James Dolan’s team plans to appoint Leon Rose, a player agent, as the club’s new president. The Knicks will adopt a successful model in which player agents like Bob Myers (Warriors) and Rob Plinka (Lakers) become presidents in the best league in the world, bringing the agent’s qualities to the presidency that requires great talent in negotiations and the ability to attract talent, something Steve Mills, the Knicks’ dismissed president had difficulty with.

Rose is considered one of the leading player agents in the US today. Among his clients are Joel Embiid, Chris Paul, Doin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Carmelo Anthony and many others. The fading brand called the Knicks, still the second-most powerful franchise in the NBA.

Recall, the Knicks have been linked to the Toronto Raptors’ valued president Maysai Yugiri, but the latter is under contract with the champion by the end of the 2020-21 season. In order to move Eujiri to New York before his current contract expires, the Manhattan team needed to give up future draft picks, something James Dolan refused to do.
