Mayor Arad
Nissan Ben Hamu claims the government is not addressing the dangers of the region’s roads, and warns of serious implications: “Road infrastructure is an old infrastructure, it’s a matter of time before any more fatalities appear on this road,” Ben Hamu told the Ynet studio the following day. Publication of the dramatic record of mudslides
Into Route 31.

“You have to understand, the part of Route 31 that connects Arad to the Dead Sea is narrow and winding. Thousands of cars, buses and trucks are passing through, and this is definitely a very problematic road,” said Mayor Arad. “We have been warned quite a few times that the road should be widened, its safety regulated, but that has not happened yet. We are witnessing another collapse within two weeks due to the rains, factually it is a great miracle that there were no casualties.”

– Why should such a situation be reached? Why not start a serious fight?

“Investment in infrastructure is heavy to regulate this road once and for all. When you ascend the rises of the Dead Sea to Arad and in the middle there is a separation line, and you get stuck after a truck, it also leads to a lot of traffic offenses. It takes quite a few million shekels to regulate the road and it’s definitely set As a red road. ”

“Even when we opened the racetrack in Arad, we dropped some of the traffic to motor sports enthusiasts, but still have to answer. We are talking about the future to come, the tourism sector is going to jump ahead with tens of thousands of tourists in the Dead Sea and must answer it. Currently, the Israeli government is not addressing the issue this”.

– Is it a matter of time before someone gets hurt?
“As it seems today, and we are witnessing it, whoever goes down this road understands that it is actually coming down. When there are cliffs on the right and left, it is soft land, not the rocks but the mud and chalk. It seems to be a matter of time before God sees more fatalities on this road. ”
