“Health” on the reception of the 10 students coming from China: reserve isolate

The Ministry of Health announced the reception of ten Saudi students after they were evacuated from the Wuhan region of China, through a special plane that was sponsored by the Kingdom’s government. Thankful for completing all the necessary procedures and arrangements with the competent authorities there, and for providing the facilities required for their transfer and ensuring their safety.

And the “Health” indicated that the students were transferred, accompanied by specialized medical teams, to a suitable accommodation that was fully equipped for them, with full medical care, as they would be isolated for two weeks in order to ensure their safety and perform all laboratory tests to check them, to ensure that it does not transfer to other people.

This measure is part of the ongoing epidemiological investigation and follow-up by Health to the emerging coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health reaffirmed and reassured citizens and residents that, to date, no infection in the Kingdom with the new Corona virus has been recorded.

It is worth noting that “Health” continues to implement many precautionary measures to prevent and benefit from the virus to the Kingdom – God willing – by examining all those coming from China through direct or indirect flights.

And the “health” indicated that the total number of samples that were examined in the Kingdom from January 20 to February 2 this year reached (62) samples and all of them are negative, praise be to God, and a number (3152) traveling through direct flights from China were examined, and also a number of (868) traveling via indirect flights, during the same period, where “Health” provided medical kits around the clock in all land, air and sea ports that receive direct and indirect flights from China.

The National Health Laboratory also managed to build the laboratory capacity to identify and detect the disease in record time since the first infectious cases appeared in China, and before the WHO declared it an international outbreak.

And the Kingdom, thank God, has extensive experience and rich experience in disease control and prevention gained through the Hajj and Umrah seasons during which millions of people are received from different parts of the world.

It should be noted that, according to the latest statistics issued by the World Health Organization, the total number of confirmed cases globally has reached (14561) cases, including (14386) cases inside China, and the number (175) cases outside, while the number of deaths to date ( 305) Deaths.
