Last night (Wednesday) actor and film legend Kirk Douglas who was known as a Jewish and great supporter of Israel at the age of 103, passed away.
Kirk Douglas, born in 1916 in the name of Isser Danielovich Demsky to Jewish parents, has visited Israel several times and his son Michael Douglas continues to support Israel and be a strong voice against anti-Semitism in the world.
In addition to his appearances in films that are considered a milestone in films such as “Spartacus” from 1960 and “Trails of Fame” from 1957 both directed by the late Stanley Kubrick who is also considered a legend in the film industry, Douglas played a Holocaust survivor in the 1953 hit movie, which was the Hollywood movie The first one taken in Israel.
In 1964, he gave a lecture to the students of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
