Ibrahim Mike Baycora, who was appointed as the new police chief of the city to the vacated seat after Troy Oswald retired, swore by hand pressing the Quran at a ceremony held in the Paterson City Hall. In addition to the Americans, the Presidents of Turkish Associations and representatives of non-governmental organizations operating in the USA participated in the oath ceremony. Baycora, who has been working at various levels of Paterson Police for 32 years, will manage the police unit of the city with a population of 150 thousand.
Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said at the oath, “Police Chief Baycora is an honest police officer at all levels of the Paterson Police Department. It is our priority to ensure that those living in Paterson are safe. Chef Baycora’s history is immaculate. One who will lead our police department to grow and technologically renew ”.
“I love this city. Paterson is a real America with its ethnic groups, pluralist structure, people from all over the world,” Baycora said in his speech.
