About 8,600 reports, inquiries and warnings of suspected cyber incidents were received during the past year at the National Cyber Events Management Center of the National Cyber Arrangement – Yigal Ona, the leader of the campaign, revealed today.
Ona participated in the CyberTech Global 2020 event and said that regarding the critical infrastructure of the State of Israel, zero cyber vulnerability could be reported.
Of the approximately 8,600 reports, more than half (4,415) were received from citizens and organizations in the economy into the 119 center of the array located in Be’er Sheva, and the rest were received from threat detection systems. About two-thirds (3,233) of the 119 reports were verified after being tested as a cyber event – attempts to penetrate computing devices of some degree. These figures do not include additional reporting axes for the array.
Of the reports that turned out to be a cyber event, about half (48%) reported intrusion into computing systems, close to a quarter (21%) reported information theft, and 15% reported phishing. The rest reported weaknesses in computing systems (7%), malware such as infidelity (5%), impaired functional continuity such as site corruption (2%), and bypassing identification mechanisms (2%).
