Senior rabbis in the Har Mor stream, led by Har Mor Zvi Yisrael Tau, the president, issued a call for their students and supporters to run for the Noam party.
Recall that despite various reports, the party decided not to submit a list for the 23rd Knesset elections, apparently for fear of having to pull the list again at the last minute.
The rabbis explain in their call that “basic concepts that once possessed every person from Israel, religious as secular – the Jewish character of the state, the importance of the Jewish nation, the sanctity of the family and more – are undermined, so shameful to identify with them.”
“For the purification of this affliction that has befallen the people, spiritual coping is not enough. We see that this movement is promoted by ‘agents of change’ dazzled by the so-called ‘new and enlightened’ discourse, spread at key points in all governmental and social systems in Israel,” the rabbis added.
In light of this, the rabbis state, “There is a tangible need to put real, real-political power that will work firmly to restore the State of Israel to its healthy and natural path.”
The rabbis continue to note that, despite the natural reservation of political occupation, “this period is an emergency and we have no choice but to engage in political action as well, of course, to endeavor to remain in great purity and always to the benefit of Israel and not the benefit of a limited group, one way or another.”
In addition to Rabbi Tao, the letter is also signed by the Ateret Cohen Yeshiva and the former Beth El Yishuv, Rabbi Shlomo Aviner, the Chairman of the Rabbi Mor Rav Rabbi Amiel Sternberg and Rabbi Mordechai Sternberg, Rabbi Oded Wolanski, Head of Mitzpe Ramon Rabbi Zvi Kostiner, Yeshiva of Netivya Israel Rabbi Doron, Head of the Givat Olga Rabbi of the Settlement Yeshiva, Rabbi Ephraim Jiamy, the Head of the Settlement Meeting in Kiryat Gat Rabbi Amir Maman and Head of the Eilat Rabbi Yossi Rodriguez.
