Tevfik Göksu, the Deputy Chairman of the AK Party Assembly, asked the İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu to apologize to the AK Party Assembly member. “If you do not apologize, we will leave the assembly,” said Tevfik Göksu. “I will speak face to face with that friend,” Imamoglu replied.
When Göksu stood up to leave the assembly, Göksel Gümüşdağ from Ak Party took the floor. Gümüşdağ also asked İmamoğlu to apologize, stating that it was misunderstood. Thereupon, İmamoğlu used the phrase “I am expressing my sadness”.
Expressing the sadness of Imamoglu was accepted as an apology by the AK Party group. The Assembly meeting continued from where it left off after the tension subsided.
