Yesterday the Swede did a specific job together with Kjaer and Conti. Maybe today he goes back to working in a team

Stefano Pioli’s wish has not come true. “Ibrahimovic also had fatigue at the start of the week, but it was the flu that didn’t allow him to be against Verona – explained the coach in Sunday’s post-match game -. I hope to have him available on Tuesday”. That is, since yesterday, when Zlatan remained in the gym all the time. The derby week starts with the absence that makes the most noise: Ibra has not trained on the field with the rest of his teammates. A first alarm bell? Not exactly. The choice not to join the group came about in the previous hours and the cold wind that blew on Milanello yesterday was one of the unpredictable causes. Zlatan thus began and ended his “internal” training in the company of the other flu veterans, Kjaer and Conti. On muscle fatigue, society minimizes: simple exhaustion due to the 55 minutes played against Torino last Tuesday. At the same time, nobody assures that Ibra will be available to the coach already this morning, in the second session of the week: even if we are certain that he will have an excellent athletic state, Zlatan would only have three training sessions left in the group. For him, they are more than enough.

Ten years later

In fact, the alarm has not gone off, and it is very likely that Ibra himself will defuse it once and for all: he would never give up on the derby. It was with two goals from Inter (in the 4-2 defeat) that greeted Milan on 6 May 2012, the penultimate game of the Rossoneri’s first experience: almost eight years later Milan found itself equally dependent on the Swedish, paradoxically more than yesterday. The ascendancy Ibra has on the team has often been said, and his teammates have confirmed it. The numbers, which do not lie, are the definitive testimony of its ability to affect. The proof offered by Rebic and Leao, lost in pairs without the totem, are the counter-proof: the only alternative solution today is not at all convincing. But Zlatan will be there and the fact that on social networks he deals with perfumes and riding is another aspect that comforts the fans: he is absolutely not worried about skipping the derby. The fans travel at the same speed: no fear, or no more than usual, if Zlatan will be on the pitch. The numbers again support the thesis: the last league derby that Milan won as Inter’s guest is that of November 14, 2010, 1 to 0 with a Rossoneri penalty scored after five minutes. Signed Ibra.
