As first published, the owner stated: “Management rights will pass to the CEO, while continuing to carry all the commitments for the 2019/20 season. Next season and until a replacement is found, the budget will be based on revenue “
Two days after Sports Exposure 1 for Maccabi Netanya owners Eyal Staff Considering leaving the club, this morning (Sunday) he made an official announcement announcing: “I will transfer the management rights. I will leave all financial obligations at the end of the 2019/20 season.” The full message before you:
On June 28, 2016, I went to the Lod District Court to purchase the Dear Club for our hearts – Maccabi Netanya. I did so following a personal request from the mayor (through the then City Manager). At the same time, accompanied by the memory of binding things, mountain riders and hills – full support and ongoing support, all promised to finally find someone who would take on the enormous responsibility of leading the municipal football team.
I agreed to serve as a locomotive of this train because the fan organization did not mature, others who were interested disappeared with the wind and the decomposition date came.
From the time I purchased the club to this day, I stated that I was here for the benefit of the fans and emphasized that as soon as it was otherwise (or any fan organization was completed), I would transfer the club ownership to the same party immediately.
All along, I made it clear that my job was to manage managers, coach coaches and fans. This is how it works in a healthy system and so will my term.
As the owner of a football club in Israel, I am obliged to make every decision that will be made at the Football Association and its jurisdictions. In this regard, I enclose a letter I sent to the Chairman of the Association (Blink – http://bit.ly/3aWQ7ga) A letter in which I referred to the conduct of the legal entities in the Football Association and its implications for my continued conduct.
In all my years I have not been a defendant before a single court or judge who can do fate.
Unfortunately, during 2019 this happened twice.
In both cases, I was prosecuted for unfounded allegations, in which the judge ruled out ruled and disconnected rulings from reality.
Since I do not intend to face similar situations again in the future, I sent my statement to the Association Chairman twice. For the first time near the Dayan ruling and the second time a few days ago.
Each of us sets limits in his life and actions, for himself. For me it was a border crossing and in fact the straw that broke the camel’s back.
My friends,
Positive energies in the net, the stadium and the sports street can lift an entire club. It’s our job and our mission as an audience!
We experienced such strengths in the Numerator campaign, which managed to fill the stadium twice in games against Hapoel and Maccabi Haifa in the 17/18 season, and in the wonderful initiative of the “Come Boy, Have a Game” campaign, which resulted in hundreds of children playing every game.
On the other hand, negative energies cause just the opposite and more.
I wonder to myself, what causes “public opinion leaders” to cry out countless opportunities for Mr. Fate? (And all without deriving lessons from the previous and unworthy cry that did not predict the foresight).
This is how it is in every “cucumber season”, so it is in every window of transfers, so it is “between the straits” and so it is every opportunity given. In the end, we are always “relegated” and expected bottom fights, and always the desired players do not come and those who finally come straight from cataloged as “League A” players.
So, my friends, you can’t run a system, and certainly not a football club that wants life and sympathy.
The same people refer to the “elimination sales” of the most prominent players in the club time and time again (when only two players have been sold in practice over the past four seasons, less than any Premier League team).
The same people increase their cries when there is dissatisfaction with a player / coach / manager – and everything, with a rude and relentless foot. Later, when the mistake becomes apparent, they go down to the “standby” until the next “crisis”, which will bring with it an opportunity to embark on a new and repetitive venomous attack – whether it is cynically, a witty statement, or most often blatantly and irresponsibly.
Taking tens of thousands of us to the trophy finals is important and exciting, but even more so, the thousands who remain cheer on and embrace the players even after losing. That’s how it happened for years and so it happened at the beginning of our common ways. Unfortunately, for the past year and a half, the exciting and empowering phenomenon that accompanied us has disappeared.
Solidarity in fire and water ceased.
Instead, the players are accompanied by screeching whispers and screams at the end of unsuccessful games, precisely in those moments when players need more support and embrace than ever.
The audience can be shared in management, action, and even part of the decision-making process, but it is impossible to let the audience run the club, especially when thousands of different views are reversed by 180 people by the same people during the same match.
Proper and orderly management can be ensured and current and full compliance with financial obligations. You can be sacrificed, devoted to leaving the whole routine of life and to the various courts to help release detained fans for wrongdoing.
But one thing cannot be guaranteed, neither I nor anyone else: there is no guarantee or insurance policy for achievement on the field and / or choosing the right players.
Since the beginning of the 18/19 season, we have witnessed personal injuries in the professional and senior management team, injuries that have become a part of day-to-day language and are repeated after each match where the result does not match the expectation.
Arriving at the club offices and protests that have become an easy solution for us (because “what’s not going well is going bad”) are the ones who are increasingly tapping into the endless sense of mission and dedication.
Albert Einstein said that “the world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who look from the side and do nothing.” This is why I did not stand aside when the club was standing before the unloading.
This is why the city clerks and the gifted treasurer have disappointed and disappointed me so far. This is why I never understood the local radio and some of the past players (who define themselves as fans), who wait for every half chance to dance on the blood.
This is exactly why I do not buy the terms “silent majority” or “noisy minority”.
At the end of the day, the club belongs to all the fans, of all kinds and all genders, and no one has any privileges, not on good days and especially not hard days.
To sum up,
You can contain one or the other event, and sometimes several events at the same time, hoping that this is a coincidence.
However, on the day that the understanding that systematically believes in you and your path is only sharpened by successes and hard times, the stands require you to manage, when you realize that everything described is accompanied by legal regulation that translates into unreasonable decisions by those who are supposed to manage football in Israel, all that remains to make decisions, even if they are difficult to make. .
Contrary to the speed of the decision to purchase the club, it has been a decision that has been brewing for me for a long time and with a heavy heart.
As someone who stood in the stands for the first time before the age of 10 and has been there all along, doing and doing everything he can; As someone who has been called the flag over and over again for the past ten years – this time too I will not abandon the club I love so much and will not break the tools.
However, in the coming days I will transfer all management rights to club CEO Niv Goldstein, while continuing to carry all financial obligations until the end of the 19/20 season.
I intend to resign from the Board of Directors and my position as Chairman of the Board.
I would recommend that the board increase the number of members to seven and appoint three new board members (beyond the existing four) from the fan audience, as it is natural that the nominees have the right to vote and be elected to the club.
The board must be tasked with finding candidates to purchase the club or transfer the management rights to fans, who are the club’s natural owners.
From season 20/21 until he finds anyone in my shoes, the club’s budget will be based on his independent income (around NIS 18-20 million, conditional on the sale of subscriptions / tickets and a reasonable level of sponsors). For my part, I will continue to deposit the guarantees required to allow the club to run.
The time and resources I shared will be used to deepen the investment in the success of the youth department, which is the future of the club.
I am convinced that the members of the Board of Directors and CEO will continue to run the club optimally and find the way to success we all wish for.
For the better,
I swear,
To death in yellow.
Eyal
