The Moroccan artist-painter Naïma El Melkaoui offers to see, until February 28, at Espace Culture in Millau in France, a new collection of his works alongside the photographer artist Gérard Rouquette, and this under the entitled “Cross Visions”. The opening took place on February 7 in the presence of Karine Orcel, deputy mayor, delegate for Culture, Patrick Bernié, sub-prefect of Millau, numerous personalities and enthusiasts of the plastic arts.

In her speech during the opening of the “Crossed Visions” exhibition, Karine Orcel did not fail to bear witness to Naïma’s artistic commitment during her rich plastic journey, attesting to her intense creativity “which uses different techniques and colors to better transmit the battles it wears. Her works spin, twirl and take us with infinite delicacy in her own universe, ”she underlines. Indeed, Naïma El Melkaoui never ceases to amaze us with her innovations, always in search of new experiences and new worlds, magical and wonderful, which invite to dream and meditation. A journey of color and beauty of souls in the joy of living and sharing, as mentioned in her speech, the representative of the president of the Departmental Council, Sylvie Ayot, congratulating the two artists: Gérard Rouquette, who wears an abstract look at the world, offering, through its lens, another vision and another perception of what surrounds it. Then Naïma El Melkaoui, whose compositions of the works reflect what she feels in her deep interior. Because Naïma is very sensitive to everything around her. Hence the spirit of commitment that inhabits her, motivating her to react in painting to several subjects, such as the day to combat violence against women or environmental issues, among others. She has, to her credit, several paintings in this sense, namely an installation under the theme “The soul of nature” and other works dedicated to noble causes. The artist’s journey began at an early age. She then accumulated experience and research in various styles, whether in the abstract, figurative or surrealism. In her drawings, Naïma lets her soul speak, entrusts us with this artist to whom art breathes energy and the passion to live and to exist. Several art critics compare his characters to “mermaids with hemmed silhouettes of antimony taking shape, as if animated by the celestial hand. But like reeds that bend without breaking, then finally raise their heads, to better defy life ”. Naïma El Melkaoui’s numerous exhibitions in prestigious events, both in Morocco and abroad, have won her several prizes and honorary distinctions. Which encourages him more in his creative artistic approach. His meeting with the great photographer Gérard Rouquette highlights his openness to other plastic horizons for a very fruitful exchange and dialogue.
