The cases in Taiwan – The pair was among the new cases of infection in Taiwan on February 6. The third patient who tested positive for them was a 40-year-old woman who visited Macau on vacation with three other family members on January 21-24 and developed a fever and sought immediate medical attention in a local hospital.
On that occasion, however, the new coronavirus was not identified and she was simply prescribed home rest. But his condition has not improved; the woman then returned to seek medical assistance and further tests showed that she had contracted the virus.
According to the minister of health, the doctor who saw her did not suspect that her disease was the new coronavirus because the symptoms were mild and also because at that time Macau was not seen as a seriously infected area. The woman is currently being treated in an isolation ward and is in stable condition, reports Cecc.
The latter three cases bring the total number of infected people to Taiwan to 16.
