According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) data, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake occurred in Sivrice district of Elazig, on the Richter scale today at 02.32. While the earthquake was measured at a depth of 7 kilometers, it was learned that it was felt in the central and surrounding districts of Elazig. No earthquake related loss of life or property has been announced yet.
The Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute (KRDAE) announced the magnitude of the earthquake as 4.6 and its depth as 6 kilometers.
4.2 SECOND EARTHQUAKE IN SIZE
After this earthquake, at 03.03, a 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sivrice, also at the epicenter. The depth of this earthquake was again measured by AFAD as 7 kilometers. Although the earthquake was felt in Sivrice, Elazig and surrounding districts, the streets were generally empty.
