Lieutenant Colonel Sivan Bluff, Commander of the Golani Brigade, said: “We are Golani fighters of the November 19 cycle. We have vowed allegiance to the State of Israel at the Western Wall. A terrorist tried to hurt the spirit of Israel and the IDF spirit and we Golani fighters will continue the legacy, strengthen ourselves and not let them break the spirit. ”

The investigation shows that at 1:30 AM the terrorist surprised the young soldiers, who had completed a heritage tour in preparation for the inauguration ceremony at the Western Wall. The soldiers walked on the sidewalk and were about to cross the road as a vehicle came behind them, accelerated, hit them and fled the scene.

Some of the soldiers put a cartridge in their arms and even tried to run after the terrorist, but were not able to shoot. The seriously wounded soldier and the other 11 slightly injured were evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital.

After escaping from the scene of the attack, the vehicle hit the tunnel on the run in the direction of Beit Jala in the Bethlehem area. Hours later, the offending car was found abandoned. It is estimated that this is a local initiative and not a planned attack by an institutionalized terrorist organization.
