The deputy will be replaced by the head of the Central District Committee

Brand will be asked from the planning director for the Treasury and will fill the role of an acting standard, because at this stage the future of housing headquarters is foggy. The headquarters were established in 2015 with the appointment of Kahlon as Minister of Finance, in a government decision that expired in November 2019. Because in November 2019 as well as now, a transitional government, the headquarters activities were temporarily extended for four months.

In light of the uncertainty, Brand will also replace Acting – it will be David Leffler who is currently chairing the Southern District, and the next government train will serve in two positions simultaneously – the Chairman of the Southern District Committee and the Chairman of the Central District Committee.

Cohen was a partner in the construction of the housing headquarters, before that she was a consultant on planning and construction affairs for Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who served until September 2014. Prior to that, she was a lawyer in planning and construction matters at the firm of Agmon & Rezenberg Cohen & Co.. A Committee on the Refrigeration Law of the Civil Service Commission will soon decide on the length of the required cooling period. It is estimated that at the end of the period she will return to work as a lawyer in the design and construction field.

Shira Brand is a lawyer and urban planner, was Binth Schwartz’s deputy when it headed the planning director. Following Schwartz’s retirement and for ten months until September 2017, Brand was Acting Director of Planning Administration. Since then, she has served as chair of the Central Committee. The Civil Service Commission has approved her provisional appointment as Deputy Chief of Housing. Leffler’s appointment as Brand’s temporary replacement has yet to be finalized, requiring the signing of Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon after consulting with the Civil Service Commissioner.

Central District is considered to be comprised of the six districts of the Planning Director, it includes all of the center cities of the country except Gush Dan. It promotes huge residential construction programs, with most of the state’s infrastructure moving. However, this is the second time in the last five years that the Central District Committee has been functioning without a full-time chair. Between August 2015 and September 2017, Treasury Director General Shai Babad filled the role of acting standard.
