After being disfigured by his mother, a dog finally finds a family

When he was just 13 days old, a German Shepherd and Border Collie crossbreed named Brodie was attacked by his mom. Since that encounter, the dog has remained partially blind, with some deformations in the head and muzzle.

Brodie was born in the “Old MacDonald Kennels” shelter in Alberta, Canada, and his mother attacked him on the head for reasons that the volunteers have not yet figured out. After a period in a veterinary clinic it was not easy for him to find a family.

In fact, the first attempt was not successful: it was adopted by a couple who after 5 months brought him back saying that he was an “too active” dog. Then a new opportunity came for Brodie. Amanda Richter, 30, and boyfriend Brand Ames, 23, fell in love with him after seeing his photos on social networks as soon as they met him at the refuge. «We took him out for a walk and we immediately felt comfortable with him – they say -. Deciding to adopt it was a natural choice, and on the same day we took it home with us ».

Brodie is an intelligent dog who has a lot of energy, and even if he has a deformed head he has no brain problems. “It only takes patience with him. Maybe in the future he could even become a pet therapy dog, “said the girl. For now he enjoys playing in the park and has no idea he is different from the others. They also created an Instagram profile dedicated to him that already has more than 56 thousand followers.
