A worker is dead for an accident in the construction site in Piazza Tirana of the new Milan metro line 4; he was 42 years old and originally from Lauria, in the province of Potenza. The man was the foreman of the excavation operations and, writes Republic, was “taking measurements at a wall of a connecting tunnel” 18 meters deep “when he was overwhelmed by a large boulder that hit him in the chest and legs”; he was taken to the San Carlo hospital where he died shortly after 8pm. The accident occurred around 6:30 pm.
Fabio Terragni, president of the concessionary company M4 spa, expressed his condolences to the family and added that the company “is available to the authorities so that the dynamics of the accident can be clarified with the utmost rigor”.
