Exclusive interview with Andrea Migno. After the near-victory in Valencia, the Cattolica driver starts again with the SKY Racing Team VR46.
2019 season of ups and downs for Andrea Migno who finished the adventure with KTM of the Bester Capital Dubai team in 13th place. Podium in Austin, second place in Valencia and it is from here that we must start again. From next year the 23 year old from Cattolica will return to the base with the Sky Racing Team VR46, with which he immediately regained contact in the Jerez test (he did not shoot in Valencia). The Moto3 2020 will be a fundamental junction for Andrea Migno who is waiting for the right glimpse for the class leap. On his side a team that will be able to offer him the top of technical assistance and a pit mate, Celestino Vietti, who will surely give him stimuli.
Last week he participated in the 100 km of Champions at the Tavullia Ranch, paired with Franco Morbidelli. Second step of the podium that symbolically represents a springboard to start again in a big way. And when the going gets tough the tough start playing …
What worked and what didn't in the 2019 season?
I felt good with the Team from the beginning, then after the Mugello I had a performance drop. I struggled, I don't know why. I held on, I followed the advice of many people who were close to me and I was reborn.
How did the choice to return to the Sky Racing Team VR46 come about?
It all started with Uccio. A few days before the announcement he informed me of the thing and I was immediately pleased. I knew I was back in a good situation and I was immediately enthusiastic.
A balance on the first test in Jerez with the Sky Racing Team VR46?
It rained two days: I only shot during the first day, but the feelings were more than positive. A great start for this new adventure.
On what aspects do you think you need to improve?
I have to work hard to be able to be constant in my performance. This year, after Mugello, I had a decline for some races and this compromised the season.
Your expectations for the 2020 season?
Starting again from what has been done in Valencia, improving again and always staying there, with the strongest.
Winter break, the first thought of Andrea Migno: "Finally a bit of rest" or "I will miss the races"?
We need a little rest, but I miss the races, I can't deny it!
And the 100km of the Ranch?
It went well! With Franky (Soft) we really enjoyed ourselves and went strong. A weekend of motorcycles and fun with friends.
