Lara Comi – former MEP of Forza Italia – is free after the review court yesterday revoked the house arrest that had been imposed on November 14 last. She had been arrested for "corruption, illicit financing and fraud" in the so-called "Mensa dei povoso" investigation, which on May 7th led to 43 precautionary measures executed, among others, against the former Forza Italia coordinator in Varese Nino Caianiello , of the Lombard councilor Fabio Altitonante and of the then candidate to the European and councilor in quota FI Pietro Tatarella. Comi remains under investigation for fraud against the European Union and illegal financing.

According to the investigations, he allegedly received illicit repayments during the mandate to the European Parliament that he would have received from a so-called "third provider", which from 2014 and 2015 would have collected the remuneration of another Comi collaborator and would have turned over the money in cash. her deputy and her father.
