There nature rebels and i tourists they come in droves. The natural terraces of Scala dei Turchi, that corner of paradise in Realmonte (in the province of Agrigento), they are crumbling. In particular, some boulders would have precipitated from the rocky wall towards the step of white marl and the sea. The complaint was launched by the environmental association "Sea friend", which attributes the causes to bad weather, but above all to tourist overcrowding. The Sicilian site, a candidate to become heritage Unesco, is attacked every summer by hundreds of thousands of tourists, who unknowingly damage the same rocky wall that shows signs of abating.

The beach had recently been reopened to tourists after the collapse of the east side. Now considered the danger of the fall of rocks, the site could be subject to new interventions.
