A season to remember for Brembo, which boasts titles in a large number of two-wheeled competitions. The debut in the new MotoE championship is also excellent.
Great successes also in this 2019 for Brembo. The Bergamo-based company, a leader in applications of braking systems and high-performance systems, is confirmed at the technological level in motor racing competitions. Many titles won this year by motorbikes equipped with Brembo brakes. We are not just talking about the three categories of the MotoGP, but also about the series derivatives and many other championships. Not forgetting the excellent debut in the new electric World Cup.
Let's start with the World Championship. This season the company has reached 500 victories in the queen category, divided between the 500cc disappearance and the current MotoGP. For the fourth consecutive season Brembo supplied all the teams of its own components. This means that the 28 pilots seen in action this year have all relied on the Bergamo company. From 2002, the year in which the MotoGP was born, the 315 GPs disputed were won by motorcycles equipped with these brakes, but the winning series began in 1995. Looking from 1978 to 2001, the years of the 500cc category, we count 185 GPs won for motorcycles equipped with Brembo brakes. As mentioned, we are talking about 500 victories in 40 years in the top category of the World Championship: this has led to 31 driver titles and 32 constructor championships. In the Moto2 and Moto3 crowns there is also the Brembo paw, as well as in the World Superbike Championship.
In WSBK in particular, where he has been present since 1988, he won 28 drivers titles and 32 constructor championships. This year we also witnessed the debut of the new FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, with the Bergamo-based company an integral part of the project. The 18 Energica Ego Corsa in fact have an entire braking system produced by Brembo, in addition to the forged Marchesini wheels, the group's brand. The latter is also present in MotoGP, equipping 7 teams out of 11. To the titles already mentioned gained in this 2019 we also add those in Supercross and MX2. The company has worked in close collaboration with the main world houses, investing heavily in research and development. A goal always to be confirmed, that is to offer high performance, reliability and safety in the maximum two-wheel championships.
