Fitness: in December every excuse is good for not going to the gym

Although many of our compatriots (35%) are convinced that the gym is the best choice to stay in shape, the period before Christmas is a moment of unbridled laziness, or at least of listlessness. As revealed by a study carried out by NutriMente is GetFIT, conducted on a sample of about 2000 people, men and women between 18 and 40 years of age with WOA (Web Opinion Analisys) methodology, there are many Italians who declare that they do not respect the weekly training appointments established with the personal trainer ( 47%), to be easily distracted during the workout (29%) and to feel particularly tired and listless. Result? Given that 42% of the sample interviewed declared to feeling exhausted after work, you prefer to skip the fitness session and spend the evening with friends (25%).

According to the latest Eurostat statistics, then Italy 43% of people do not practice any type of physical exercise outside working hours. The GetFit study reveals that, in addition to the gym, indicated as we said above by 35% of the sample as the best way to stay in shape, are also considered excellent fitness choices football with friends (29%) and the running outdoors (21%). The majority choose the gym for aesthetic reasons (43%), but there is also a 23% motivated by the will of stay healthy, a 16% who wants get rid of stress and from daily toxins and a 14% that goes for it make new friends and acquaintances. Only 20% attend the gym regularly throughout the year, while the majority (41%) limit themselves to the spring period, just to dispose of the accumulations of Christmas binges and prepare for the swimsuit test.

Fantasy in making excuses to play training is boundless. And at the thought that the balance will then present the bill, the Italians have decided not to pose too many problems: 17% will postpone the problem until after Epiphany, without denying themselves any joy in the palate. Others propose to eat in moderation, while the most constant and far-sighted, although in a minority (29%), will continue to carry out physical activity in the gym both before and during the holidays.

But what are the main justifications that during the whole year lead to not going to the gym? To the topic GetFit has dedicated a book, entitled "50 excuses for not going to the gym", which will be distributed free to the members in the centers and in the gyms, from which a tasty classification emerges, with the ten most popular. In the belief that, to persuade Italians to play a healthy physical activity, it may also be useful to play the card of irony.
